Some of us have seen some very challenging times. We understand that by God's grace we've made it through those times.

    We've also seen the difference it can make to step out of one's comfort zone and lend a helping hand. That has helped us grow in other strengths, too.

    Over the years we've all been made aware of unimaginable devastation left in underdeveloped countries. Health care needs in many places are seriously under-served. The need for more volunteer assistance has increased as well. As we viewed the courage, faith and perseverence of those people, my family prayed together. Our hearts were touched many times.

    We are beginning to see a green light becoming steadily brighter for volunteering overseas in the future.
